Upgrade 74 Update

Peoria, IL -

On Thursday, Dec. 14, the westbound I-74 speed limit will increase to 55 mph from Washington Street in East Peoria to Sterling Avenue in Peoria. Motorists should expect intermittent lane reductions on westbound I-74 through late spring as crews complete cleanup and landscaping activities. This work may result in isolated work zone speed limits.

Upgrade 74 is the complete rehabilitation of I-74 from East Peoria through Peoria. This is the largest construction project ever undertaken in downstate Illinois.
