New Construction Activities: Peoria
- On Saturday, Nov. 4, crews will place asphalt from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting. This will result in lane reductions on the outside lanes of eastbound and westbound War Memorial Drive at Sterling Avenue.
- From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, northbound and southbound Sterling Avenue traffic will be detoured at the War Memorial Drive intersection as crews complete asphalt overlay activities. During the work, northbound Sterling Avenue traffic will be diverted to War Memorial Drive via Scenic Drive. Motorists will be able to access westbound and eastbound War Memorial Drive at the Scenic/War Memorial intersection. Traffic to southbound Sterling Avenue also will be routed via the Scenic/War Memorial intersection. Motorists should expect extreme congestion during the work. Eastbound and westbound War Memorial Drive traffic flow will be maintained at all times, as will access to all local businesses.
- Through Wednesday, Nov. 8, there will be no right turn from southbound Berkeley Avenue to Glen Oak Avenue for paving operations. Motorists are encouraged to use the Knoxville/Pennsylvania intersection as an alternate route to access Glen Oak. The left turn from southbound Berkeley to Glen Oak will remain open during the work.
New Construction Activities: East Peoria
- From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5, westbound Camp Street under I-74 will be closed for bridge painting. Eastbound Camp Street will remain open. Motorists should use Washington Street as an alternate route during the work.
