Upgrade 74 Update for the Week of November 18, 2007Update: Nov 16, 2007 (12:57 pm)
Peoria, IL - For the week of Nov. 18, 2007, the following locations will be under construction as part of Upgrade 74. The work is weather permitting, and updates may be necessary. A work zone speed limit of 45 mph will be in effect during construction.
Peoria:
- Motorists should expect an intermittent shoulder closure on eastbound I-74 from Ellis Street to Murray Baker Bridge through Dec. 7 for landscaping work.
- Construction for a sound wall along I-74 on the southeast side of Sterling Avenue will begin Monday, Nov. 19. The $1 million project, awarded to Otto Baum Company, Inc., will help reduce the impact of traffic noise for the residents and businesses in the proximity of the I-74 and Sterling Avenue interchange. This project is scheduled to be completed by June 13, 2008.
East Peoria:
- Motorists should expect a left lane closure on westbound I-74 from Main Street/IL-116 to Murray Baker Bridge from 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, through, 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, for joint work.
- Motorists should expect a left and middle lane closure on westbound I-74 from Main Street/IL-116 to Murray Baker Bridge from 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, to 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, for joint work.
- Motorists should expect an entrance ramp closure from Camp Street to westbound I-74 from 7 to 11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, for retaining wall work. Motorists will be able to access westbound I-74 from Main Street/IL-116 and Washington Street during the ramp closure.
