Upgrade 74 Update

Peoria, IL -

Due to a change in weather conditions, the construction scheduled for Monday, Feb. 26, on westbound and eastbound I-74 at Sterling Avenue will be rescheduled for another week.

However, the westbound shoulder of I-74 from Gale Avenue to War Memorial Drive will be closed for guard rail work from 7 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, through Wednesday, Feb. 28. Motorists should not experience any lane reductions or delays, but are advised to drive with caution through construction.

Upgrade 74 is the complete rehabilitation of I-74 from East Peoria through Peoria. This is the largest construction project ever undertaken in downstate Illinois.
