Upgrade 74 Work for the Week of Dec. 4, 2006

For the week of Dec. 4, 2006, the following locations will be under construction as part of Upgrade 74. The work is weather permitting, and updates may be necessary. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes.

I-74 from west of Sterling Avenue in Peoria to east of Washington Street in East Peoria is posted as a work zone with a speed limit of 45 mph. Please use caution while driving through the Peoria area.

New Construction Activities:

• Early next week, the eastbound I-74 speed limit in Peoria and East Peoria will be increased to 55 mph. There will still be a work zone speed limit of 45 mph on eastbound I-74 at Sterling Avenue as crews complete wall work.
• Westbound I-74 will remain posted as a work zone speed limit until late December.

Peoria

• Motorists should expect intermittent lane reductions on War Memorial Drive between Sterling Avenue and University Street for cleanup and landscaping activities.
• Motorists should expect intermittent lane reductions on eastbound and westbound I-74 between Sterling Avenue and Glendale Avenue for cleanup and landscaping activities.

East Peoria

• Motorists should expect intermittent lane reductions on I-74 from Washington Street to Riverfront Drive for cleanup activities and landscaping.
• Motorists should expect lane reductions on Main Street/IL-116 from I-74 to Black Jack Boulevard for cleanup activities and landscaping.
